I went last night and felt that the concert was excellent - the two new commissions (Nigel Osborne and Shirish Korde) although very different were brilliant - there was some phenomenal playing from everyone but Tristan from Edinburgh Quartet, Simon, Jyotsna Srikanth on Karnatica fiddle and Sarvar Sabri were outstanding - some of the best playing and possibly the best tabla player I have ever seen!

We had the Nava Rasa Ensemble 'Inner Octaves' tour here on Sunday. Both as promoter and audience member would like to say that this was an absolutely outstanding concert, and the best use of Tune Up funding since the late, much lamented Billy Kelly sent us the Erik Truffaz Quartet. Thanks to Tune Up and the other funders, it gave our audience a chance to see world class musicians at a fee a Highland village hall can afford (albeit with some funding help). I see a lot of great music and great musicians, but this was of a different order altogether. As one audience member said on the way out, 'that was the gig of a lifetime'. Thank you!
