The first tour of the 2005/06 Tune Up season sees the Trashcan Sinatras, Hobotalk and Roddy Hart team up in a fantastic triple-bill...
Trashcan Sinatras
Recently returned from their fifth American tour in a year, and from sell out UK, Ireland and Japanese shows, the Trashcan Sinatras have more than made up for the bankruptcy enforced hibernation that preceded their brilliant 4th album, 'Weightlifting'. Described by Word magazine as a "work of un-showy genius", the album found critical acclaim on both sides of the Atlantic. This tour of intimate Scottish theatres heralds the September release of the band's live acoustic album 'Fez', recorded in the New York City club of the same name in December 2004. NYC's 'Time Out' says of the Trashcan Sinatras "The intimacy and understatement that distinguish 'Weightlifting' extends to the live shows. Once reticent singer Frank Reader has matured into a charismatic and expressive front-man, while his band-mates deliver the songs with seamless fluid grace".

Hobotalk
Hobotalk are an eclectic four piece from Scotland playing the words and music of singer/songwriter Marc Pilley. Their sound has its roots in folk, is heartfelt and at times haunting in its melody. They've drawn musical comparisons with artists such as Tim Hardin, The Band, Tom Waits and Joni Mitchell. Having just returned from a successful appearance at the South By Southwest Music Festival in Texas, in April 2005 they released their much-anticipated second album, "Notes on Sunset". "There is no-one in contemporary music with a voice quite like his." commented The Times in May 2005 of front-man Marc Pilley.

Roddy Hart
In a relatively short time, Roddy Hart has established himself as an important and influential emerging talent on the Scottish musical scene. At only 25, and with his eyes fixed firmly on re-igniting the merits of classic song writing, his already prolific work has generated a substantial fan base. Following in the wake of artists like Dylan, Springsteen, Browne, Young and Finn, his guitar, harmonica and piano-driven songs impact on all who hear them and have subsequently earned him much respect from fans and critics alike. He recently completed recording his self-produced debut studio album "Time is a Thief", featuring guest performances from Kris Kristofferson, Eddi Reader, and the Trashcan Sinatras.
