Wonderful musicians, wonderful songs, off the beaten track...
Born in Glasgow, Eddi Reader moved to London in the 1980s, working as a session vocalist with the Eurythmics, among many others, before forming Fairground Attraction, best known for the hit single, Perfect.
In May 2003, Eddi released a lovingly conceived album entitled, Eddi Reader Sings the Songs of Robert Burns, available on Regular Music. The album has received acclaim both in the UK and in the US and features several highlights including Willie Stewart, Wild Mountainside and My Love is Like a Red Red Rose.
This tour to the Highlands and Islands, features only a couple of central belt dates and takes Eddi Reader and her band over new ground. This is a project close to Eddi Reader's heart and she hopes that the songs, performed with her acclaimed earthy approach, will reach audiences that didn't particularly 'get' Burns before. Eddi will be joined on tour by her usual complement of stellar musicians.
